FAQQ: "Why are you letting people get your music for free?" A: "Why not? I love making music, and I want people to hear it. I have the rare opportunity of giving a gift to anyone who wants it. I think that's really fun." Q: "Why would anyone make a donation when they've already gotten the music for free?" A: "Because people like to support the music they love. It does cost a lot of money to record a great album. So when people donate, they're helping me make back the cost of this project and move towards recording the next one. Everybody wins." Q: "What's an acceptable donation for the album?" A: "Anything that PayPal or Amazon will accept. You can give $1 or $1,000 - anything is appreciated. And every dollar will get me closer to making the next recording." Q: "Is it OK for people to make copies of your music?" A: "It's more than OK - I encourage it. Please give my music to your friends, or (preferably) send them here to download it. You can also play it on your radio show or podcast or in your restaurant, perform cover songs from the album, make music videos for my songs, or get the lyrics tattooed on your forehead. All I ask is that you let people know who wrote it and send them back here if they want a copy. Oh, and please let me know how you've used it. I'd be pumped to hear about it, and I'll probably post it on my site. I would love to have a section of fan-created content." Q: "Any exceptions?" A: "Yes. Don't use my music for money-making purposes without my written permission. If you've got an idea, drop me a line first and we'll talk about it." |
